The Celebration is at Minnehaha Regional Park, Wabun Picnic Area, Shelter "C". The shelter is indicated on the maps by C.
Wabun Picnic Area is along the Mississippi River bluff, east of the main park.
Wabun Shelter "C" is in the southeast corner of Wabun Picnic Area. The entry to Wabun (marked with a W on the maps) is at the intersection of 46th Avenue and Godfrey Parkway. Godfrey Parkway becomes West River Parkway east of the intersection.
The Park can be reached from north or south by Hiawatha Avenue (Highway 55) turning east at 46th Street, and from the west by Highway 62 ("Crosstown") then north on Hiawatha Avenue (Highway 55).
Numerous local streets also connect, notably: 46th Avenue and West River Parkway from the north, Ford Parkway in Saint Paul from the east, which becomes 46th Street in Minneapolis, and Minnehaha Parkway/Godfrey Parkway from the west.
The best entrance for motor vehicles to park in Wabun is at the intersection of 46th Avenue and Godfrey/West River Parkways, indicated on the maps by W.
There are three unmetered (free) parking lots within Wabun (P1, P2 and P3) and two lots shared with the Veteran's Home to the south (P4 and P5).
Metered parking is available in 3 lots to the west of Wabun along Godfrey Parkway: $P6, $P7, and $P8.
Parking can fill up so try to arrive well before 1:00 PM, as early as 11:00 AM.
There are two nearby major transit stops.
The Blue Line (light rail) stops on the west side of Hiawatha Avenue at the 46th Street station, indicated on the Regional map by the annotation T1. The A Line bus connects with the Blue Line station.
The A Line (rapid transit bus) runs from the Blue Line station ("T1") east into Saint Paul and the north on Snelling Avenue. The A Line stops one block north of the Wabun entry, indicated on the Regional map by the annotation T2.
Several local bus routes also serve the area and connect with the A Line, including routes 7, 9, 23, 46, 74, and 87.
Walking from the Blue Line station to Wabun is almost one mile. The most pleasant route is south across 46th Street on the west side of Hiawatha, alongside Minnehaha Creek for a ways, then east along Minnehaha Parkway/Godfrey Parkway (over the land bridge covering Hiawatha) and on into the park.
